2004 National Report Card on Women's Health
The 2004 edition of Making the Grade: A National and State by State Report Card was released on May 6, 2004. This unique multi-year effort provides a detailed assessment of government performance in promoting and advancing women's health, grading each state and the federal government on women's health status and health policy. Michelle Berlin, MD, MPH is the primary author for health status information in the Report Card, while the National Women's Law Center serves as the primary author for policy data.
Making the Grade is the third report by NWLC and OHSU that grades and ranks each state based on 27 health status indicators, and evaluates 67 health policies that cover a range of women’s health issues, including preventive care, reproductive health, access to health insurance and Medicaid, and economic security. The study is an in-depth look at women’s health status and policies in each state.
