Hormonal Contraception
More Choices Than Ever!
Hormonal contraception has come a long way over the past five decades, but there are now more options available than ever before, many of which may provide benefits beyond the prevention of pregnancy.
The Women's Health Research Unit is currently recruiting for a study on a new vaginal ring. A vaginal ring method currently is on the market, but just like packs of birth control pills, a new device is needed for every cycle. In contrast, the investigational ring under study can provide an entire year of contraception. After 21 days of use, the ring is removed for 7 days, and then reinserted.
Qualified participants will receive the ring (one year of contraception!) at no cost, and will receive compensation for their time on the study.
Please call to see if you qualify for this exciting opportunity, and feel free to pass this news along to a woman you think might be interested.
In other research news, we are also recruiting for studies looking at solutions to the following: breast pain, low libido, and hot flashes. We also have other contraception study opportunities. Call our confidential recruitment line now to see if you qualify at 503 494-3666.
A listing of current studies is online at OHSUwomenshealth.com/research. For more information call 503 494-3666.
Happy New Year from all of us at the Women's Health Research Unit!
