Planning a Pregnancy Within the Next Year?
While some women are able to get pregnant almost immediately after discontinuing the use of hormonal contraception, such as the pill, for other women it may take a few months for their bodies to return to its normal function. As such, many women who are planning pregnancy at some point, but perhaps not immediately, may want to consider going off the pill and using a non-hormonal method for a few months.
And we might have the option for you, plus it’s possible to get it at no cost.
Researchers at OHSU are currently studying both the efficacy, and women’s preference of a new spermicide compound called C31G. Participants on this study will prove instrumental in determining the relevance and safety of a new, female controlled contraceptive device. In addition, there is evidence to suggest that this method may actually prevent the transmission of certain sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
Your participation in this study would help researchers to improve public health not only in our community, but also internationally, where a female controlled, disease preventing contraceptive could have an enormous impact in countries outside our own.
