The OHSU Center for Women’s Health was founded in 1997 to
define a new model of health care for women. The center is changing
the health care experience for women by combining the best in clinical
care with cutting-edge research and empowering patient education.
For women in Oregon and throughout the Northwest, the center offers
a new style and quality of care, centered on women and their families,
and backed by the medical excellence of OHSU.
The Center For Women's Health at OHSU offers a full complement of services for women during pregnancy and beyond.
The Center for Women's Health provides a variety of educational
programs.
Certified reproductive endocrinologists committed to providing
high-quality and cost-effective care to individuals and couples,
including in vitro fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection
(ICSI), preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD), and sperm and egg
donation.
The general gynecology and obstetrics team provides a full range
of services at the OHSU Center for Women's Health. From well women's
exams and family planning to menopause care and hysterectomy alternatives,
board certified Ob/Gyn physicians provide special expertise
to meet the needs of women in all stages of life.
The Women's Cancer Group at OHSU is the oldest gynecologic oncology
treatment in Oregon. Housed in the beautiful Center for Women's
Health, the cancer group shares the wealth of experience and resources
of the OHSU Cancer Institute.
For many women, a new vision of health starts with a visit to one
of our primary care physicians. Women have different health needs
than men and often have unique symptoms even when experiencing similar
health challenges. Our team of women's health experts have received
additional training and experience to deliver the latest in gender-based
primary care. Women's Primary Care also offers services for adolescents.
Consultation for mothers with sore nipples and for mothers considering lactation induction for adopted infants.
Individual, couples and family counseling and support. Marriage
and relationship problems. Bereavement (perinatal losses, widowhood,
losses of other loved ones).
The OHSU School of Nursing midwifery program was recently listed
first in the country among similar programs across the country by
U.S. News & World Report magazine. Services include well-woman gynecology, perimenopausal
and postmenopausal care, birth and postpartum care and more.
The Perinatal Center of the OHSU Center for Women’s Health offers cutting-edge technology and new approaches to address high-risk pregnancies from pre-conception, through pregnancy and beyond.
The OHSU Pelvic Floor Health & Reconstructive Surgery Clinic
provides therapeutic options for women with conditions such as uterine
and vaginal prolapse, as well as urinary and fecal incontinence.
The Program in Vulvar Health provides treatment for complex vulvovaginal problems. The program includes three gynecologists, a sex therapist and physical therapist, who understand that vulvovaginal symptoms present unique challenges to the woman who is experiencing them, and approach each patient with an unmatched level of care and support.
